tashamao Says:
May 6, 2007 - She is a talented dancer, just that her choreography has too many jumps involved.
tammywamie Says:
May 17, 2007 - She dances like moldavian gypsies not like belly dancers,i'm not saying is bad but in my opinion it is not exactly a belly dance
caty476 Says:
May 18, 2007 - i dont like this type of moves in the dance
Anchorageb2 Says:
May 20, 2007 - i would like to see her dance to a drum solo only and see how she does. That scarf covers up her belly muscle control if she uses it.
KoiryDance Says:
Jun 4, 2007 - I'm Russian bellydancer too, Irina very talanted, but I don't like her style =( She mix men & women parts of bellydance, as for me, it' a little bit strange... But she great teacher, her pupil, Alex Ryaboshapka is the champion of men bellidance, Raqya Hassan, the best arabian dancer like him so mach!!!
EthnicArtsPromotions Says:
Jun 14, 2007 - She is not good. Nour blows her away. Her hands and arm positions are wrong too. Agressive, almost manly. She doesnt feel it.
rudakropka Says:
Jun 22, 2007 - not very pro... she is pretty, but, on the technical side, the "thing" she's presenting is almost as not belly dance :/ not pleasant to watch:/
EveRabie Says:
Jul 23, 2007 - I see what you guys are saying, it is kind of - not bellydance-ish - but I think that's her style. I think she may indeed BE feeling it - but.. she just feels it kind of... aggressively. LOL Not for me either, but... oh well. I see hip-hop and jazz influences in this a lot. Her shimmies are rough and beginnerish, as well as her almost unseeable (Is that a word?) hip movements.
EthnicArtsPromotions Says:
Jul 23, 2007 - rough can be a good thing too in the right hands or in more experienced hips! Knowing how to use what ya got and when! But because she is not a pro, it may not work for her so well. Upon second watch, she really isnt bad, good actually. I dont like jumps though.
EthnicArtsPromotions Says:
Jul 23, 2007 - She has good use of space, but moves too much. Hate jumping..."Rough" style is good for say Fifi abdu for the more experience professional. On a beginner that is not Egyptian, it dosent look as good.
ACaliangel91 Says:
Aug 16, 2007 - i love her costume where could i get it.
2005604 Says:
Sep 8, 2007 - I don't like her dance style, jillina is dancing on the same music and jillina is much more elegant and gracious than her.
jiminpdx Says:
Sep 9, 2007 - She looks professional to me, she just has a different style.
dinavienna Says:
Sep 15, 2007 - like many Non-Arab, especially most Russian/Easter European dancers, she s not really feelin the music.. there are some positive examples, but well, the majority does not have the Mediterranean sentimentality, nor the tiny hip movements, variations.. not nice.
ddragonfly813 Says:
Oct 5, 2007 - Irina has a wild and aggressive style but that is her intent and I think it suits her. I like it. Some find it strange and "wrong" but I personally think it's refreshing.
iheartmoodi Says:
Oct 22, 2007 - she is not feeling the music, and is off the beat and off the music by miles, but everybody has their own interpretation of the art some arnt just as good as others.
laylaindy Says:
Nov 16, 2007 - It's not a matter of being Arab so one can feel the music. There are many Arab bellydancer ladies who don't know how to dance. It's a matter of talent. You have it or you don't have it no matter what country you are from or whatever dance you perform.
logixundeniable Says:
Dec 2, 2007 - ok like most of the commenters below...i do believe her style is a bit "rough",she has the moves down real well, but shes not "feeling" her music...and thats what its all about...she is supposed to be a visual representation of the audible. i give her a -D
erekluvu1 Says:
Dec 13, 2007 - lol my name is irina popova. thats pretty funny cuz i dance to.. but not belly dance=D
carolineptenchick Says:
Dec 17, 2007 - i dont see how she can be a pro. she is pretty, but the dancing is very average
jguinea71 Says:
Jan 20, 2008 - no fluidity, too jerky.
cincinnatikid Says:
Jan 30, 2008 - Yes! That's how Slavs do belly dance! Like a warrior! Aggressive, pointed . . . It might not be "Arabic" belly dance . . . But it's how we Slavs do dance . . . Good girl!
cincinnatikid Says:
Jan 30, 2008 - I understand that her version of doing belly dance is not very "Arabic" but is instead aggressive and pointed. This is how we Slavs dance . . . I like it - it's Slavic belly dance. That's just how we do things - aggressive and showy. Like it or not, we enjoy it - and I enjoy watching this style. It speaks to us.
shemshem2000 Says:
Feb 6, 2008 - yea your right..i think russians are trying hard to trake over belly dancing, they it making alot of money so they decide to do it for a licing,,since our arabs arent doing as much in public for our conservative society

Apr 27, 2007 - I have to agree with most posts here.. Maybe looking at it as an individual interpretation featuring bellydancing influences I would have said that she is cool. However she is lacking the elegance for a bellydancer, she's too agressive.
