Added: Aug 23, 2006 From:6969aaaaa Duration: 7:12 In the Middle East and North Africa people often will balance things on their heads when they dance socially, such as bottles, glasses, or canes to show off their balance and dexterity. This dance was created to reflect this tradition. The shisha or water pipe is a common object found in caffes and other social gathering places throughout Egypt. The Shisha Dance was first performed by Tarik in 2003 and is now being performed by renounded Egyptian male Oriental Dancer from Sharm il Sheikh Tito. Jan 7, 2008 - Bravo!Such skill and balance!I agree with the others - your performance is very masculine, as is that of Tito. Of the other male bellydancers I have seen so far (sadly I've seen none perform live as yet), many of them do dance in a more feminine way, or maybe it's the costuming that makes it appear that way? I love your costume, by the way

Feb 19, 2008 - it 's wonderful! In Cyprus we have dances like this, where the dancer dances having glasses on his head.

Feb 19, 2008 - It's amazing how many similarities we find around the world isn't it?
IOIcyprusgirlIOI Says:
Feb 22, 2008 - Of course it is! We should not forget that Egypt lies near Cyprus, and because of that we have "affected" each other.

Jan 5, 2008 - Wonderful dancing Tariq. I have also watched your other videos in admiration of your strength, grace masculinity and yes, modesty while projecting strength. I cannot see how anybody could object to such art. But then, many today in the Muslim world do not know at all the richness and diversity of their own artistic tradition! Keep up with the good work!
