Jan 6, 2009 - It was not even black, it was a stone building at first built by Abraham (may peace be upon him) it's called the Qiblah, the direction for muslims to pray. There isn't much inside because first the pegans put all their idols in there, and since the establishment of Islam all idols are gone from it. Some texts are inside verses from Qur´an etc. The kaaba itself isn't that important, muslims stood on it to give call for prayer, it's just a direction for unity so that all muslims pray this way.

Jan 8, 2009 - The building was built why, stating in the Qur´an that Allah said to Prophet Ibrahim/Abraham to build this. It's a direction, if people are on their knees in front of it means they're kneeling for their God not for the cube. If muslims had any intentions of worshipping the kaaba they would never stand on it. Especially when prayer was establishes in Mekka people would stand on the kaaba to give the call for prayer. Making a cubic house is very easy, probably that's why.

OK, so why did god tell Ibrahim to build the cube? is there more info on the reasons to build it? why a cube, why not, say, a sphere, or just a stake in the ground. i don't doubt muslims are praying on knees to Alah, but they are physically kneeling around the cube and facing it, so the cube... despite what you say, has TREMENDOUS significance or sorts. i'm trying to figure out why. i'm NOT trying to ridicule or make fun of or whatever of it, you know.

Jan 9, 2009 - From the source that muslims have Allah ´Azza wa Jal has told prophet Ibrahim to build a house, but not to build a cubic shaped house. So if you want to investigate more on the kaaba, I think you should investigate on how cubics react on spiritual beings, and what the significance is from that. Which I can't give a complete answer for.
