Mar 10, 2010 - its famous because the polo grounds deep center field was around 500 ft and willie was playing in so he then had to haul ass too make the grab, then be able to sling to ball in and cut off the runner. The last part is the thing that you don't see but there were runners on base and if willie hadnt of made that catch and throw the only highlight you'd have of the ny giants would be the shot heard round the world

Mar 14, 2010 - I think for the level of difficulty #1 should have been #1, That is no easy catch plus their are few center fielders that would actually sacrafice their body (and the extra bases) in an attempt to real it in. Lord knows Manny wouldn't give that extra effort. Was it the best for entertainment value?? Probably not because it is a similar catch to what we see regularly. I think for entertainment value that college football player that caught the pass behind the defenders head was freakin sweet!

Mar 18, 2010 - I am the starting centerfielder and a starting reciever for my high school, and i think the Jim Edmond's catch deserves to be on top cause I think it was the hardest catch to make out of all of them. Some of the football catches were a bit lucky ( not saying they weren't great).But, they were all great catches.....great video *Thats my opinion*
