Ironically at the same time it was rumored that Asala herself was banned from singing in Public in Syria. Asala sang this song which lyrics express the love of a person to their homeland after a long conversation about the topic of Loving your homeland and not being able to live freely in it. As you can see in the video both Asala and Hala got emotional when Asala was singing. Oct 23, 2008 - BTW Dalida wasnt really Egyptian..She is originally Italian but was born in Egypt in the area of Shobra in Egypt..So this song was to express her love and respect to Egypt..So her voice isnt originally an Arab voice..as for Asalah we all know who she is and whata agreat voice she's got..
