Nov 20, 2008 - It could have been that in the beginning early belief in the Abrahamic God could have been taken from an existing religion(s). That would mean the ancients were more than likely praying to the Sun and Star formations. Given that God is the universe they weren't far out. The bible I study to me would indicate different stages of human belief with history included. Other versions of the bible seem to be very confusing so I don't bother with them.

As a youngster I did all the things that were expected of me as a Catholic but I did even then question things. King James didn't write the Bible.God wrote the Bible and gave divine wisdom to his Prophets. As far as the covering of the head, what about it? Nov 22, 2008 - badwanpk I am an ex-Muslim and I tell you that the number of Muslims in the World is meaningless because it never reflects Muslims who renounce Islam like myself and can't tell about because they will be prosecuted/executed for apostasy. As for converts to Islam you might find some confused westerners suffering from some deep insecurity and rejection or some losers in Western jails to whom Islam might appeal to but I truly doubt that Islam can inspire any intelligent and rational person.

Nov 22, 2008 - badwanpk I left Islam because it is archaic and no longer in tune with the times; for example while Surat Annisae might have been a revolutionary progress for women rights in the dark ages it is now seen as chauvinist and primitive. People are not failing religion; it is religion that is failing people because it no longer inspires what is wholesome in people and seems to have a strong appeal to people with twisted perceptions and values such extremists, religious fanatics and terrorists.
