I know the Greeks tried to copy the song but it didn't do anything for me.... and it shouldn't because it is NOT a Greek song, it belongs to Algeria and it will always be an algerian song!! Peace!! In fact, the first thing that occurred to me when I read Las Enchiladas' translation was: "ah, Rachid's using 'travel' as a metaphor for an arranged (or unloving) marriage". This is because the video imagery helps to add that extra meaning to those who see a translation of the song. A song's meaning will always suffer somewhat when removed from its original context, but songs are meant to travel, otherwise, why sing at all?
