Aug 30, 2008 - I don't think this is about religion - it was probably a protest against the military regime:- its gripped the people of Burma with an iron fist whilst its top brass have made billions of dollars from the country's rich natural reserves. Meanwhile the people of Burma are trapped in extreme poverty and have no rights - they have been exploited for decades. Even a peacefull protest can trigger a violent crackdown by troops. No other countries will help them - no oil like Iraq I guess. Shame on us
