Abbas Peace be upon him was killed when he was trying to get water for Imam Hussein daughters and children; the army fought against them didn't let them drink from the river. it is the most sad event in the Islamic history. Their are 2 shrines one of which is hz.Husayn son of Ali(as), the grandson of our beloved prophet Muhammad(sas).And the other shrine is for hz.Abbas son of Ali(as). Abbas(as) got martyred on the banks of the Euphrates river in Iraq, so his shrine was built their. While Husayn(as) was martyred farther then the river and Husayn(as)shrine was also built.
